The Adel Neighbourhood Plan was the subject of a referendum on 5 June 2025 and was approved by a large majority of Adel residents.  The voting figures were: 

Number of votes in favour of adopting the Plan – 1,354 (95.29%) and number of votes against – 67 (4.71%).  The total number of votes cast was 1,421, which is 27.21% of the total electorate in the area (5,222).

Following this approval the Council will now be completing the administrative process of adopting of the Plan but in the meantime the Council’s Planning Officers will be considering the Plan in their assessments of any planning applications in the area.
